Shimano Freshwater Rods

Just some of the great features you will find on the these Shimano rods are

TAFTEC Tips
Without getting too complicated these rod tips are built using a spinless construction that results in a much stronger and lighter tip that has a faster action and is much more sensitive. In practice this means the tip is much less likely to break even when a split shot or swimfeeder is wound too far into the tip ring. This is the most common form of tip breakage, especially by inexperienced anglers.

Muscle Carbon
This is a combination of top quality carbons with a low resin content. This dramatically reduces the weight and will feel much lighter and more responsive in use.

Dyna Butt
The Shimano Dyna Butt is the first fully integrated butt section in which the carbon is shaped to suit a minimalist handle and fittings. A part of this construction is the Vibralock feature which absorbs all unwanted vibration. In practice this means you get a faster and more responsive rod with superb balance. Casting distance is also improved and the rods have more power in reserve when needed.

Shadow Diaflash
This is a new Shimano construction feature not to be confused with the Diaflash range of rods.

Optional Balance Weights
A number of rods in the Shimano range are fitted with balance weights that will improve the feel of the rod. They are simple to fit and are used to balance the rod to your personal preference.

Ti Lite Guides
These Titanium guides are available in SiC and hardlite versions and are fitted to a number of Shimano rods. They combine amazing strength with minimal weight which improves the rod action and casting performance. Such is Shimanos confidence in these guides that they have a Lifetime Corrosion Warranty.
